Another group of delightful musical animations, each focused on a different complex Rube Goldberg-like music-making machine, ANIMUSIC I continues the tradition of sophisticated mechanisms creating tuneful excitement. Full of charm and whimsy, these shorts reward the viewer first time, every time.
We went a little over the top with features on this DVD. For example, the Starship Groove animation was rendered in Fullscreen, Widescreen, and 3 other camera views for the multi-angle bonus, for a total of 5 full-length versions. This adds up to over 20 minutes of footage just for that 4 minute music animation!
It’s even more extreme with Fiber Bundles which includes 4 full additional views for 6 versions and 4 more stereo mix soundtracks. We hope you enjoy all the extras!
‘Animusic 2, as one might imagine, is a sequel to the highly imaginative and wildly inventive Animusic.’ The Animusic series is a genre unto itself and, if this second volume is any indication, it’s one that’s going to be around for a long, long time. ‘Animusic 2’ is everything its predecessor was, and a whole lot more–all of it good.
With eight main features, this album goes beyond the simpler melodies of the first to investigate some truly remarkable set-pieces. Indeed, the most fascinating thing about the album is that it could stand alone as pure music without all the dressy animation which accompanies it. Luckilv for us. the creators of this trulv novel entertainment went ahead and created new animations as well.
And, terrific animation it is. ‘Pogo Sticks’ will slightly remind some viewers of one moment in the first album, but that’s only one instrument from one video. All the rest, with the exception of ‘Pipe Dream 2’ (which puts new music together with the stupendous instruments from the original ‘Pipe Dream’), is inventively new and unique. The complicated interdependent string instrument in ‘Resonant Chamber’ is one of the most original creations in the annals of science fiction musical instruments. But pieces like ‘Fiber Bundles’ and ‘Heavy Light’ simply have to be seen, and more than once, to be appreciated.
This is a bold, brassy, we’re-doin°-it-our-way production that defies imitators to dare show their faces. This is one of the most creative, boldly different concepts on the market today. Grab a copy today-you’ll love it!.
